MELBOURNE - Dec 25/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure trough is moving into southwestern New South Wales, with a second trough off the far north coast. Meanwhile, a high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is extending a ridge to the mid-north coast and helping deliver humid northerly winds to the inland trough. The high will drift towards New Zealand during Sunday, as the trough over western New South Wales links with a cold front and pushes to the northeast. This is expected to bring unsettled conditions to most districts, clearing from the west during Monday as another high moves into the region, bringing a somewhat cooler and less humid airmass. Forecast for the rest of SundayFine in the far southwest. Rain in the northeast, increasing near the Queensland border later in the day with possible heavy falls. Isolated showers and thunderstorms elsewhere, tending scattered in the east. Warm and humid northeast to northwest winds ahead of a cooler southerly change in the south and west.Monday 27 DecemberFine and partly cloudy in the west.
