MELBOURNE - Dec 22/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak ridge over New South Wales will maintain fine conditions over most districts for the remainder of today. A trough currently developing near the northern coast is likely to bring increased shower or rain activity across the northeast, while a ridge maintains generally fine weather across the west and south until Friday. Another trough in the west is likely to start moving towards the coast during the weekend with shower and thunderstorm activity extending to southeastern districts. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayRain periods, increasing and extending inland in the far northeast tonight. Fine remainder. Southeast to northeast winds.Thursday 23 DecemberRain areas in the northeast with the chance of thunderstorms. Chance of showers on the south and central coast later. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds, tending light and variable in the central parts.Friday 24 DecemberRain areas in the northeast, tending to widespread rain on the north coast and adjacent ranges. Chance of showers over central parts. Chance of thunderstorms over the northern inland. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.Saturday 25 DecemberRain areas in the northeast, tending to widespread rain on the northern coast and ranges.
