Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 20/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A deep low pressure system is moving across the southern Tasman Sea, while a high south of the Bight extends a weak ridge into New South Wales. This ridge will maintain fine conditions over most districts during the next day or two. A trough is expected to develop over central parts of the state by Thursday before contracting to the western border on Friday. Another trough expected to form near the northern coast is likely to bring increased shower activity across the northeast later in the week, while a ridge maintains generally fine weather across the south.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayPartly cloudy in the south with isolated showers in the far southeast. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds tending northeasterly on the north and central coasts.Wednesday 22 DecemberIsolated coastal showers, increasing and extending inland later in the far northeast. Fine and mostly sunny inland. Southeast to northeast winds.Thursday 23 DecemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast, tending scattered in the far northeast later. Chance showers on the south coast later. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds, tending light and variable in the central parts.Friday 24 DecemberIsolated showers in the northeast and Alpine areas, tending scattered in the far northeast. Chance thunderstorms over northern inland. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.Saturday 25 DecemberIsolated showers in the northeast, tending scattered in the far northeast.
