MELBOURNE - Dec 15/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Warning Summary at issue time Final Minor To Moderate Flood Warning for Rural Areas for the Castlereagh River Downstream of Coonamble. Moderate To Major Flood Warning for the Macquarie River at Narromine and Downstream. Minor To Moderate Flood Warning for the Bogan River. Moderate To Major Flood Warning for the Lachlan River at Forbes and Downstream. Minor To Moderate Flood Warning for the Murrumbidgee River at Wagga Wagga and Downstream. Minor To Moderate Flood Warning for Rural Areas along the Murray River Downstream of Albury. Minor To Moderate Flood Warning for the Culgoa, Bokhara and Narran Rivers. Minor To Moderate Flood Warning for the Warrego River. Minor Flood Warning for the Paroo River. Flood Warning for the Barwon River at Walgett and Downstream and the Darling River at Bourke and Downstream. Severe thunderstorm warning for the Northern Rivers and Northern Tablelands forecast districts. Strong wind warning for New South Wales waters between Port Hacking and Gabo Island. Weather Situation A cold front will continue moving through western and southeastern New South Wales today before weakening into a trough over the northeast on Thursday. A deep low pressure system will move south of Tasmania on Friday bringing westerly change across the state. Another trough is expected to develop over the western parts during Sunday and then move slowly east. Forecast for the rest of Wednesday Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the southern and in eastern parts. Northeast to northwest winds ahead of southwest change extending from the southwest. Forecast for Thursday Partly cloudy in the west. Isolated showers and thunderstorms elsewhere tending scattered in the northeast but clearing from the south. Northeast to northwest winds turning south to southwest in the west and southeast. Forecast for Friday Isolated clearing showers on the central and south coast and on adjacent ranges. Scattered showers in the northeast with the chance of thunderstorms. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest to northwest winds inland, tending northeast near the coast. Forecast for Saturday Isolated showers in the north and in the far southeast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southwest to northwest winds, tending northeast to southeast along parts of the coast. Forecast for Sunday Isolated showers throughout tending scattered the northeast. Southwest to northwest winds, tending north to northeast on the north coast.
