MELBOURNE - Dec 14/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
For tonight and Wednesday: WARNING SUMMARY: Fire Weather Warning for Tuesday. A Severe Thunderstorm Warning. A Strong Wind Warning for the Gulf Waters south of Cowell to Sellicks Beach and the Far West, West, South Central and South East Coasts. Locust Movement Advice: Overnight Tuesday and early Wednesday weather conditions in the Riverland, Murraylands, Mid North, Flinders and Upper South East may be conducive to southward movement of locusts and possibly into districts further south. Barley Growers on Eyre Peninsula are advised that the potential exists for severe damage to crops. SOUTH AUSTRALIA: Areas of high cloud, isolated light showers and possible thunder extending from the west, reaching a line Marla to Lameroo by midnight then extending to the eastern border overnight. Showers and possible thunder contracting to the Northeast Pastoral and eastern border area early on Wednesday, then clearing later. Isolated showers continuing south of Adelaide. Warm overnight with moderate to fresh and gusty northerly winds, ahead of a cooler, fresh to strong southwest change reaching a line Coober Pedy to Kingscote late this evening before extending throughout early on Wednesday. Cool to mild in the south on Wednesday, warm to hot in the north.
