Weather Situation A weak high centred near Adelaide is drifting slowly east, while a low develops within a trough off the Queensland coast. This low will drift slowly southeast during Tuesday as the high moves to the Tasman Sea and strengthens. During this time, warmer and more humid winds are expected to interact with an upper level trough to generate shower activity across the east of the state. A low pressure trough will bring a few showers as it moves through western and southern districts during Wednesday, with showers increasing on Thursday as the trough reaches the east. Further showers are possible across the region during the weekend as a low develops to the south, although the positioning of this is currently uncertain. Forecast for the rest of Tuesday Isolated showers in the east, tending scattered about the central ranges and in the northeast. Isolated thunderstorms in the northeast and about the tableland. Fine and mostly sunny in the west. Mostly north to northeasterly winds inland, southeast to northeasterly on the coast. Fire Danger: Low to Moderate Forecast for Wednesday Isolated showers in the west, extending east and becoming scattered about the western slopes of the southern ranges. The chance of thunderstorms through most areas. Hot in the western inland. Northeast to northwest winds, before a southwest change in the southwest. Forecast for Thursday Fine in the southwest. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms elsewhere, clearing from the west although becoming scattered in the east. Northeast to northwest winds in the northeast, with a south to southwest change extending through remaining districts. Forecast for Friday Scattered showers in the northeast, tending isolated about the western slopes. Isolated showers about the south coast and adjacent ranges. Fine elsewhere. Southwest to northwest winds inland, tending northeast to northwest near the coast. The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Tuesday. * Calls to 1300 numbers cost around 27.5c incl.
