A weak low pressure trough and a fairly humid, unstable airmass will persist over northeastern New South Wales with isolated showers and thunderstorms likely. A high pressure system will move into the Southern Tasman Sea on Tuesday, directing an east to northeasterly stream over NSW. This in conjunction with an approaching upper level trough will result in some shower activity in the east of the state on that day with isolated thunderstorms possible. A weakening front is expected to move through western and southern parts of the state Wednesday with isolated showers in most districts. Forecast for the rest of Monday Isolated showers along the north coast and adjacent ranges with the chance of afternoon thunderstorms. Possible isolated showers or drizzle patches on the south coast. Mostly sunny in the remainder. Southwest to southeast winds, moderate to fresh near the coast. Forecast for Tuesday Isolated showers along the coast, ranges and western slopes, tending scattered in the northeast. Possible isolated thunderstorms in the northeast and about the central ranges. Fine in the west. Mostly north to northeasterly winds inland, southeast to northeasterly on the coast. Forecast for Wednesday Isolated showers in most districts, tending scattered about the western slopes of the far southern ranges. Hot day in the far west. Northeast to northwest winds before a southwest change in the southwest. Forecast for Thursday Scattered showers likely in some eastern districts. Generally fine in the west. Southwest to southerly change extending to all areas apart from the far northeast. The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Monday. * Calls to 1300 numbers cost around 27.5c incl.
