MELBOURNE - Dec 4/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Warning Summary at issue time Moderate Flood Warning for the Colo River at Putty Road. Moderate To Major Flood Warning for the Castlereagh River. Moderate To Major Flood Warning for the Macquarie and Bell Rivers. Minor To Moderate Flood Warning for the Bogan River. Minor To Moderate Flood Warning for Mandagery Creek and the Lachlan River at Nanami and Downstream. Minor Flood Warning for Murrumbidgee River at Mt Macdonald. Moderate To Major Flood Warning for the Murrumbidgee River Downstream of Burrinjuck Dam. Minor Flood Warning for the Warrego River. Minor Flood Warning for the Paroo River. Preliminary Flood Warning for Belubula River at Canowindra. Flood Watch for the North West, South West and Central West Districts of New South Wales. Strong wind warning for New South Wales waters between Point Danger and Coffs Harbour. Weather Situation A high pressure system centred over the eastern Tasman Sea is directing warm and humid winds into a weak trough over inland New South Wales, while a second trough is expected to deepen off the northern coast today. Another trough currently over West Australia is moving slowly eastwards and is expected to move through New South Wales later in the new week. Forecast for the rest of Sunday Fine with sunny periods over the western inland. Cloudy in the northeast with rain and possible heavy falls about the far north coast, and scattered showers about the northern ranges and central coast. Partly cloudy with isolated showers over the remainder. The chance of thunderstorms over the eastern half, apart from the southern and central coasts. East to northeast winds, freshening along the northern coast. Forecast for Monday Isolated showers and the chance of thunderstorms over the eastern half, tending to rain periods along the north coast and adjacent ranges, with possible moderate to heavy falls. Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the far west. Fine over the remainder. East to northeast winds. Forecast for Tuesday Isolated showers, tending scattered in the northeast and in the far west. The chance of thunderstorms west of the ranges, more likely in the far south west. North to northeast winds. Forecast for Wednesday Scattered showers and thunderstorms contracting eastwards over the inland, with moderate to heavy falls likely. Isolated showers along the northern coast.
