Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 2/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary at issue time
Moderate Flood Warning for the Castlereagh River at Coonamble.
Moderate To Major Flood Warning for the Macquarie River.
Minor Flood Warning the Lachlan River at Nanami and Cottons Weir.
Minor Flood Warning for Queanbeyan / Molonglo Rivers and Murrumbidgee River at Mt Macdonald.
Moderate To Major Flood Warning for the Murrumbidgee River.
Minor Flood Warning for the Warrego River.
Minor Flood Warning for the Paroo River.
Final Flood Warning for Belubula River at Canowindra.
Flood Watch for the North West, South West and Central West Districts of New South Wales.
Severe thunderstorm warning for the Central Tablelands, Central West Slopes and Plains, South West Slopes and Riverina forecast districts.

Weather Situation
A semi-stationary high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea extends a ridge to New South Wales north coast and is directing moist winds into a trough over the western parts. Over the forecast period a little change in the synoptic situation is expected.
Forecast for the rest of Friday
Partly cloudy in the far west. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms remainder with to rain areas in the central north. Northwest to northeast winds.
Forecast for Saturday
Sunny periods in the far west. Scattered coastal showers. Rain periods, showers and isolated thunderstorms elsewhere. North to northeast winds.
Forecast for Sunday
Partly cloudy in the northwest. Isolated showers elsewhere tending scattered in the east, the chance of thunderstorms. Southeast to northeast winds.
Forecast for Monday
Isolated showers in the east tending scattered on the north and central coasts. Partly cloudy in the west. East to northeast winds.
Forecast for Tuesday
Showers throughout. North to northeast winds.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EDT Saturday.
