Queensland central coast. An upper level trough is moving over western
Queensland.
Forecast for the rest of Friday
Rain areas in southeastern districts with moderate to possibly heavy falls
about the Capricornia and northern Wide Bay. Scattered showers and thunderstorms

west. Cool to cold daytime temperatures in the east. Mostly moderate SE to NE
winds across the state, fresh at times about the coast south of Mackay and over
the southeastern interior.
Forecast for Saturday
The upper level trough will continue moving east, entering the southeast
interior in the evening while the surface trough is forecast to strengthen and
move south over the Wide Bay and Burnett with a possible low developing
offshore. Rain areas to contract to the southeast corner, with moderate to
possibly heavy falls about the Wide Bay and Sunshine coasts. Scattered showers
and thunderstorms between the Central Coast and the Maranoa and Warrego, tending
more isolated in the tropics. Fine in the west. Mostly light winds in the
tropics tending light to moderate SW to SE in the west and moderate to fresh E
to NE about the southeastern coast.
Forecast for Sunday
The upper trough weakens and moves east over southeastern districts while the
surface trough will sit near the Southeast Coast district. Patchy rain areas
continue over the southeastern corner of the state, possibly heavy over the
Southeast Coast with scattered thunderstorms. Elsewhere isolated showers and
thunderstorms about the southeast interior, eastern districts and through the
tropics. Fine in the west.
Forecast for Monday
A nice high pushes into the southern Tasman Sea and reinforces the ridge
across eastern Queensland while both the upper and surface troughs are forecast
to move off the southeast coast during the day with rain areas and isolated
thunderstorms in the southeast during the morning. Otherwise isolated showers
and thunderstorms in the east and through the tropics. Fine in the west.
Forecast for Tuesday
The high remains over the southern Tasman Sea while a new trough system
enters western Queensland and increases instability across the state. Scattered
showers and thunderstorms in the east and extending into central parts and into
the southwest.
Outlook for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

trough remains in western Queensland. Showers and thunderstorms are expected

and isolated thunderstorms in the east.
