Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 1/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary at issue time
Minor Flood Warning for the Hastings River at Kindee Bridge.
Moderate To Major Flood Warning for the Castlereagh River.
Moderate To Major Flood Warning for the Macquarie River and the Bell River.
Minor Flood Warning for Mandagery Creek at Eugowra.
Minor Flood Warning for the Murrumbidgee River at Narrandera and Downstream.
Minor Flood Warning for the Paroo River.
Moderate Flood Warning for Belubula River at Canowindra.
Flood Watch for the Castlereagh and Lower Namoi Valleys and Central West New South Wales.

Weather Situation
A high over the Tasman Sea is combining with a trough over inland NSW to direct moist east to northeast winds across the state. This situation will remain until the start of the weekend with the inland trough only slowly weakening. The high in the Tasman will remain well into next week and is likely to combine with secondary trough approaching from the west to bring further rainfall towards mid next week.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday
Rain areas and isolated thunderstorms in the east, tending scattered and possibly severe about the western slopes of the northern and central ranges. Partly cloudy in the northwest, isolated showers and possible thunderstorms in the southwest. Northwest to northeast winds.
Forecast for Friday
Partly cloudy in the west. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms over the remaining southwestern half, and rain areas and isolated thunderstorms over most of the remainder. Northwest to northeast winds.
Forecast for Saturday
Scattered showers or rain periods and isolated thunderstorms over central and eastern NSW. Sunny periods in the far west. North to northeast winds.
Forecast for Sunday
Isolated showers for all but the northwest, with the showers more likely in the east. Southeast to northeast winds.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Thursday.
