MELBOURNE - Nov 30/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Warning Summary at issue time Test Flood Warning for the Tweed River. Minor To Moderate Flood Warning for the Castlereagh River at Mendooran. Minor Flood Warning for the Murrumbidgee River at Gundagai. Minor Flood Warning for the Paroo River. Flood Watch for the Castlereagh and Lower Namoi Valleys and Central West New South Wales. Details of warnings are available on the Bureau's website www.bom.gov.au, by telephone 1300-659-218* or through some TV and radio broadcasts. Weather Situation A high over the central Tasman Sea is maintaining a ridge to the southern Queensland coast. A weak low has developed over western New South Wales in response to an upper level trough. This system is expected to gradually weaken on Thursday as another slow moving trough develops to the west. This second trough appears likely to reach western districts early in the new week. Forecast for the rest of Wednesday Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms in the northwest. Showers or rain areas with isolated thunderstorms elsewhere and moderate to locally heavy falls in the east. Moderate to fresh northeasterly winds in the east, tending light and variable over the western inland. Forecast for Thursday Partly cloudy in the northwest. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms over remaining western parts and rain areas and isolated thunderstorms in the east. Northwest to northeast winds. Forecast for Friday Partly cloudy in the west. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms over the remaining southwestern half, and rain areas and isolated thunderstorms over most of the remainder. Northwest to northeast winds. Forecast for Saturday Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms in the west and isolated showers along the coast. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms over the remainder. North to northeast winds.
