Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update
MELBOURNE - Nov 25/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Warning Summary at issue time Final Minor Flood Warning for the Murray River at Corowa. Minor Flood Warning for the Warrego River at Fords Bridge Bywash. Minor Flood Warning for the Paroo River at Willara Crossing. Strong wind warning for New South Wales waters between Seal Rocks and Port Hacking. Details of warnings are available on the Bureau's website www.bom.gov.au, by telephone 1300-659-218* or through some TV and radio broadcasts. Weather Situation A high over the central Tasman Sea extends a ridge to the northern New South Wales coast. This high is semi - stationary and will start to move towards New Zealand late on Saturday. The presence of this high is slowing the eastward movement of a low pressure trough currently over southwestern NSW. This trough will move eastwards over NSW during the weekend, when it is expected to intensify under the influence of an upper trough approaching from the west. Forecast for the rest of Friday Isolated showers about the far north coast. Isolated showers in the west and south, becoming locally more frequent at times, with isolated thunderstorms. Northeast to northwest winds. Forecast for Saturday Areas of rain and possible thunderstorms across western and central districts, extending to the southeast later. Isolated showers about the far north coast, clearing. Northeast to northeast winds, turning southwesterly in the far west. Forecast for Sunday Rain areas in most districts with isolated thunderstorms. Fine on the far north coast and in the far southwest. Northeast to northwest winds in the northeast. Southerly winds extending across the remainder. Forecast for Monday Showers or rain areas in the east with isolated thunderstorms. Mostly fine in the west. Northeast winds in the northeast.
