MELBOURNE - Nov 18/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Warning Summary at issue time Final Flood Warning for the Murray River Upstream of Lake Hume. Final Minor Flood Warning for the Castlereagh River at Mendooran. Minor Flood Warning for the Murray River at Corowa. Minor Flood Warning for the Warrego River at Fords Bridge Bywash. Flood Watch for the Macintyre, Bellingen and Orara River Valleys. Strong wind warning for New South Wales waters between Point Danger and Wooli. Strong wind warning for New South Wales waters between Seal Rocks and Gabo Island. Weather Situation A weak low pressure trough lies over far northeastern New South Wales. A cold front will move over the southwestern Tasman Sea later tonight and the trough will move further northeast and weaken. Behind the front a high pressure system will move over the southwestern Tasman Sea on Friday extending a ridge to the north coast and another weak trough will develop over the northeastern inland. The high is expected to strengthen on Sunday and become semi-stationary near New Zealand maintaining the ridge to northwest of the state. Forecast for the rest of Thursday Rain areas and showers in the northeast. Isolated showers and thunderstorms about the central north. Partly cloudy. Southeast to northeast winds. Forecast for Friday Isolated showers on the coast and on the adjacent ranges tending scattered in the north. Isolated showers on the western slopes of the ranges with the chance of afternoon thunderstorms. Mostly sunny in the west. Southeast to northeast winds. Forecast for Saturday Isolated showers in the northeast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds. Forecast for Sunday Isolated showers on the Alps and on the far north coast. The chance of showers or thunderstorms in the far northwest. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds tending variable inland. Forecast for Monday Isolated showers on the far north coast and on the far south coast and on adjacent ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Northwest to northeast winds.
