MELBOURNE - Nov 17/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Warning Summary at issue time Final Flood Warning for the Murray River Upstream of Lake Hume. Final Minor Flood Warning for the Castlereagh River at Mendooran. Minor Flood Warning for the Murray River at Corowa. Minor Flood Warning for the Warrego River at Fords Bridge Bywash. Flood Watch for the Macintyre, Bellingen and Orara River Valleys. Strong wind warning for New South Wales waters between Broken Bay and Merimbula. Weather Situation A weak low pressure trough over eastern New South Wales will move northeast during Thursday as a cold front crosses the southern Tasman Sea. A high pressure system will approach from the west on Friday extending a ridge to the north coast and another trough will develop over the northeastern inland. The high is expected to strengthen over the weekend and become semi-stationary over the southern Tasman Sea early next week maintaining the ridge to northwest of the state. Forecast for the rest of Thursday Rain areas in the northeast, possibly locally heavy falls near Queensland border. Isolated showers and thunderstorms about the central north. Isolated showers north of Sydney and in the far southeast later, tending scattered in Upper Hunter and over parts of the Northwest. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds. Forecast for Friday Isolated showers in the eastern and central parts tending scattered on the northern half of the coast and ranges. The chance of thunderstorm in the central north. Mostly sunny in the west. Southeast to northeast winds. Forecast for Saturday Isolated showers in the northeast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds. Forecast for Sunday The chance of showers in the far north. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds tending variable inland.
