MELBOURNE - Nov 16/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Warning Summary at issue time Minor Flood Warning for the Murray River Upstream of Lake Hume. Minor Flood Warning for the Castlereagh River at Mendooran. Minor Flood Warning for the Murray River at Corowa. Minor Flood Warning for the Warrego River at Fords Bridge Bywash. Weather Situation A high near New Zealand extends a ridge to southeastern Queensland, and a slow-moving trough of low pressure lies over northeast New South Wales. Meanwhile, an upper-level trough is moving into the state's west. This pattern will remain relatively unchanged until the second half of the week, when a high pressure ridge is expected to strengthen from the west. Forecast for the rest of Tuesday Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in the northeast. Rain areas and possible thunderstorms over the northwest. Isolated showers elsewhere, although generally dry about the southwest slopes. Southwest to southeast winds. Forecast for Wednesday Rain areas and isolated thunderstorms in the northeast, possibly locally heavy. Isolated showers on southern and central parts of the coast and ranges and in the northwest. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds turning north to northeast on the south coast. Forecast for Thursday Rain areas in the northeast, possibly locally heavy. Isolated thunderstorms about the central north.The chance of showers in the southeast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to Northeast winds.
