MELBOURNE - Nov 14/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Warning Summary at issue time Moderate Flood Warning for the Murray River Upstream of Lake Hume. Minor Flood Warning for the Murray River at Albury and Corowa. Minor Flood Warning for the Warrego River at Fords Bridge Bywash. Flood Watch for the Murray River Downstream of Hume Dam and Castlereagh River. Strong wind warning for New South Wales waters between Wooli and Norah Head. Weather Situation A high near New Zealand extends a ridge to southeastern Queensland and a low pressure trough lies across western and southern New South Wales. The trough will move to the northeast during Monday as another slow-moving high moves southwest of Australia extending a ridge across the southwest of the state. Forecast for the rest of Monday Scattered showers or rain areas and isolated thunderstorms about eastern and central parts, contracting to the northeast. Mostly clear in the west. Northwest to northeast winds tending south to southwest in the west and southeast. Forecast for Tuesday Partly cloudy in the west. Rain areas or showers in the northeastern and central parts with the chance of thunderstorms. Isolated showers elsewhere tending scattered near the coast and on adjacent ranges. Southwest to southeast winds. Forecast for Wednesday Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast tending scattered on the north coast and ranges. Isolated showers on the south and central coasts and ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds turning north to northeast on the south coast. Forecast for Thursday Isolated showers in the northeast tending scattered near the coast. The chance of showers in the southeast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to Northeast winds.
