MELBOURNE - Nov 13/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Warning Summary at issue time Minor Flood Warning for the Murray River at Corowa. Minor Flood Warning for the Warrego River at Fords Bridge Bywash. Flood Watch for the Murrumbidgee Valley and Murray River Downstream of Hume Dam This Weekend. Strong wind warning for New South Wales waters between Coffs Harbour and Port Hacking. Weather Situation A slow-moving high near New Zealand extends a ridge to southeastern Queensland and a low pressure trough lies across western New South Wales. The trough will be moving across the state slowly to reach the far northeast in the middle of the next week. Another high will develop near the Bight extending a ridge across the west and southeast by next Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of Sunday Partly cloudy in the northeast and clearing showers in the far west. Showers or rain areas elsewhere with locally heavy falls west of the Divide. Isolated thunderstorms developing for most of the state apart from far west and northeast, tending scattered over the central parts. Northwest to northeast winds, tending southerly in the west. Forecast for Monday Scattered showers and possible thunderstorms about eastern and central parts, contracting towards the northeast. Mostly clear in the west. Northwest to northeast winds tending southwest to southerly in the west and southeast. Forecast for Tuesday Scattered showers and thunderstorms in the northeast. Isolated showers on the southern half of the coast and ranges. Fine elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds. Forecast for Wednesday Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast. Isolated showers on the south and central coasts and ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds turning north to northeast on the south coast.
