Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 11/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary at issue time
Severe thunderstorm warning for the Hunter, Illawarra and Central Tablelands forecast districts
Details of warnings are available on the Bureau's website www.bom.gov.au, by telephone 1300-659-218* or through some TV and radio broadcasts.
Weather Situation
A high over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge to southeast Queensland. A low pressure trough will move to southwest NSW later tomorrow with northeast winds along the coast strengthening. The trough will move slowly east over the weekend with a low likely to form over Victoria then move to the south.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday
Fine and partly cloudy in the west. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in the northeast. Mostly fine in the southeast. Mainly northwest to northeast winds.
Forecast for Friday
Isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms on and west of the ranges, tending scattered in the far southwest later. Fine elsewhere. Early fog patches in the east. Northwest to northeast winds turning southwesterly in the far southwest overnight.
Forecast for Saturday
Rain areas and scattered thunderstorms in the west, locally heavy. Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the much of the east though fine along the northern and central coast. Northwest to northeast winds, turning southerly in the west.
Forecast for Sunday
Fine in the northeast. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms elsewhere, possibly heavy west of the ranges. Northwest to northeast winds, tending southerly in the west.
Forecast for Monday
Scattered showers and possible thunderstorms about eastern and central areas, contracting towards the northeast. Fine in the west. Northwest to northeast winds tending southwest to southerly in the west and south.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EDT Friday.
