MELBOURNE - Nov 7/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Warning Summary at issue time Final Minor Flood Warning for the Murrumbidgee River at Hay. Minor Flood Warning for the Murray River at Corowa. Minor To Moderate Flood Warning for the Warrego River at Fords Bridge Bywash. Severe thunderstorm warning for the Northern Rivers, Mid North Coast, Hunter, Metropolitan, Illawarra, South Coast, Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands, North West Slopes and Plains, Central West Slopes and Plains, South West Slopes, Riverina, Lower Western, Upper Western, Snowy Mountains, Australian Capital Territory and Northern Tablelands forecast districts Severe thunderstorm warning for the Sydney Metropolitan area Details of warnings are available on the Bureau's website www.bom.gov.au, by telephone 1300-659-218* or through some TV and radio broadcasts. Weather Situation A high pressure system near New Zealand will remain semi-stationary extending a ridge to the New South Wales north coast and maintaining a humid onshore airstream. A trough will continue to move across the west and the southeast today, weakening over the central NSW on Tuesday. A low pressure trough is expected to move over the west of the state during Wednesday. Another deep trough will be developing over the western and central parts of the continent over the course of next few days with associated cloud band affecting western and southern NSW from Friday. Forecast for the rest of Monday Becoming clear in the far southwest, scattered showers and thunderstorms remainder. Northwest to northeast winds tending west to southwest in the southwest. Forecast for Tuesday Partly cloudy the far west. The chance of showers in the northeast. Scattered showers and thunderstorms elsewhere. Northwest to northeast winds, tending southwesterly in the southwest. Forecast for Wednesday Partly cloudy in the far west and in the northeast. Isolated showers and thunderstorms elsewhere, mostly in the southeast. Westerly winds tending north to northwest in the northeast. Forecast for Thursday Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the eastern half. Partly cloudy in the west. Northwest to northeast winds, tending from southwest at first in the far southeast. Forecast for Friday Isolated showers lingering on the ranges and developing in the far southwest. Partly cloudy remainder. Northwest to northeast winds.
