MELBOURNE - Nov 5/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Warning Summary at issue time Minor Flood Warning for the Murrumbidgee River at Hay. Minor Flood Warning for the Murray River at Corowa. Minor To Moderate Flood Warning for the Warrego River at Fords Bridge Bywash. Final Minor Flood Warning for the Barwon River at Mungindi. Strong wind warning for New South Wales waters between Cape Byron and Coffs Harbour. Weather Situation A high near Tasmania is moving east and is directing a southeasterly airstream along the NSW coast. A small low is expected to develop off the Mid North Coast today before moving north and weakening overnight. A ridge of high pressure will then move north along the coast on Sunday and Monday as the high moves across the southern Tasman Sea. A cold front is expected to affect the inland on Monday before weakening and slipping away to the southeast. Forecast for the rest of Saturday Scattered showers along the coast and adjacent ranges, extending to the western ranges and slopes during the day. Fine in the far west. Chance of isolated thunderstorms in the northeast and over the western slopes in the afternoon. Southeast to northeast winds, tending southwest to southeasterly on the north coast. Forecast for Sunday Mostly sunny in the northwest. Mostly fine about the southern and central coasts. Isolated showers and the chance of thunderstorms elsewhere. Northeast to northwest winds tending westerly in the southwest. Forecast for Monday Lengthy sunny periods in the far northeast. Isolated showers and thunderstorms over the remainder, clearing from the southwest, and tending scattered near a cold front moving through central parts of the state. Northwest to northeast winds turning west to southwest in the southwest. Forecast for Tuesday Isolated showers over the northeastern half of the state , tending scattered about the Central Tablelands and adjacent coast and slopes.
