MELBOURNE - Nov 4/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Warning Summary at issue time Minor Flood Warning for the Murray River at Corowa. Minor To Moderate Flood Warning for the Warrego River at Fords Bridge Bywash. Minor Flood Warning for the Barwon River at Mungindi. Gale warning for New South Wales waters between Coffs Harbour and Crowdy Head. Strong wind warning for New South Wales waters between Cape Byron and Coffs Harbour. Strong wind warning for New South Wales waters between Crowdy Head and Norah Head. Details of warnings are available on the Bureau's website www.bom.gov.au, by telephone 1300-659-218* or through some TV and radio broadcasts. Weather Situation A high pressure system south of the Bight extends a ridge to New South Wales north coast and is directing moist easterly winds into a weak inland trough. During Saturday the trough will contract to the far northeast and weaken as a cold front approaches from the west. The front will move through the west and the southeast of the state during Monday. The front it will weaken into a trough over the northeast early Tuesday and then it is expected to move further northeast during Wednesday as another cold front moves across the southern Tasman Sea. Forecast for the rest of Friday Mostly sunny in the far west. Widespread showers on the northern half of the coast with possible local moderate to heavy falls easing from the south. Isolated showers elsewhere. Isolated thunderstorm, mostly in the northeast. Possible snow showers about the higher Alps. East to southeast winds freshening near the north coast. Forecast for Saturday Partly cloudy in the far west. Scattered showers along the coast and on adjacent ranges, tending isolated in the south. Isolated showers and the chance of thunderstorms elsewhere. Easterly winds. Forecast for Sunday Partly cloudy in the far south coast and in the far northwest, Isolated showers and the chance of thunderstorms elsewhere. Northeast to northwest winds tending westerly in the southwest. Forecast for Monday Partly cloudy in the northeast. Isolated showers elsewhere.
