MELBOURNE - Nov 3/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Warning Summary at issue time Minor Flood Warning for the Murrumbidgee River Downstream of Darlington Point. Minor Flood Warning for the Murray River at Corowa. Minor To Moderate Flood Warning for the Warrego River at Fords Bridge Bywash. Minor Flood Warning for the Barwon River at Mungindi. Final Flood Warning for the Murray River Upstream of Lake Hume. Weather Situation A high pressure system south of the Bight extends a ridge to New South Wales north coast directing moist easterly winds into a weak trough along the western slopes of the ranges of the ranges bringing showers and possibly thunderstorms to the eastern parts of the state. During Saturday the trough will contract to the far northeast and weaken further as a cold front approaches from the west. The front is expected to move through the west and and northeast of the state during Saturday and then to weaken into another trough over the northeast on Sunday. Forecast for the rest of Thursday Isolated showers near the coast and on adjacent range extending to the western slopes of the ranges during the day and tending scattered on the north coast. Snow showers about the higher Alps. The chance of afternoon thunderstorms on the western slopes of the ranges and on the north coast. Mostly sunny in the far west. East to southeast winds. Forecast for Friday Partly cloudy in the far west. Isolated showers elsewhere tending scattered on the north coast with possible local moderate to heavy falls. East to southeast winds freshening on the north coast. Forecast for Saturday Partly cloudy in the far west. Isolated showers elsewhere tending scattered on the northern half of the coast. Southeast to northeast winds. Forecast for Sunday Isolated showers in the northeast. Isolated showers and patchy rain developing in the southwest. East to northeast winds.
