Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 29/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Forecast for the rest of SaturdayPatchy rain at first, but becoming more widespread and heavier during the day over central and most eastern districts, although remaining patchy over East Gippsland. Locally heavy falls, especially over the ranges. Isolated thunderstorms. Cool southwest to southerly winds in the west, extending to central parts, but remaining mild in the east with moderate to fresh north to northeasterly winds.
Forecast for SundayWidespread, locally heavy rain, slowly contracting to the south. Scattered showers to follow. Generally cool to cold with fresh southwest winds extending throughout and becoming strong about the coast.
Forecast for MondayScattered showers on and south of the ranges, falling as snow above 1500 metres in Alpine areas. Isolated showers over the north. Cool with moderate to fresh west to southwest wind.
Forecast for TuesdayScattered showers on and south of the ranges, falling as snow above 1500 metres in Alpine areas. Isolated showers over the north. Cool with moderate to fresh west to southwest wind.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Saturday.* Calls to 1300 numbers cost around 27.5c incl.
