Patchy rain developing over western areas in the afternoon and becoming more extensive at night. The chance of thunderstorms in the northeast during the afternoon. Forecast for SaturdayWidespread rain over western and central districts, extending to the east later. Some heavy falls likely, especially over the ranges. The chance of thunderstorms in the east. Southwest to southerly winds, extending slowly eastwards and strengthening in the west. Mild in the east with moderate to fresh north to northeast wind. Cool fresh southwesterly winds over western districts, extending to central areas. Forecast for SundayWidespread rain in the east, gradually easing to showers. Scattered showers elsewhere, becoming isolated in the northwest. Snowfalls on Alpine peaks.
