MELBOURNE - Oct 27/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Warning Summary at issue time Minor Flood Warning for the Murrumbidgee River at Darlington Point and Downstream. Preliminary Minor Rural Flood Warning for the Murray River at Corowa. Minor Flood Warning for the Warrego River. Minor Rural Flood Warning for the Paroo River at Willara Crossing. Minor To Moderate Flood Warning for the Barwon River at Mungindi. Weather Situation A high lies over western Victoria behind a weak cold front which is moving northwards along the NSW coast and adjacent inland, bringing showers and possible thunderstorms to the coast and east ranges. The high will move rapidly towards New Zealand. An active cold front will move over the west of the state from Friday bringing rain over the weekend, particularly over the inland. Forecast for the rest of Wednesday Isolated showers and thunderstorms along parts of the coast and adjacent ranges. South to southwest winds inland. Northwest to northeast winds along the coast ahead of a fresh south to southeast change extending to Yamba by about midnight. Forecast for Thursday Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in the northeast, chiefly in the afternoon. Isolated showers about the central east ranges. Early fog patches in the east. Fine and mostly sunny remainder. Southeast to northeast winds. Forecast for Friday Isolated showers on the north coast, clearing. Patchy rain developing in the west late in the day. Fine elsewhere. Warm, freshening northwest to northeast winds ahead of a colder southwesterly change in the far southwest later. Forecast for Saturday Partly cloudy in the northeast. Rain areas extending northeastwards over the remainder of the state and easing in the far west later. Fresh northwest to northeast winds ahead of a colder gusty west to southwesterly change in the west. Forecast for Sunday Areas of rain or showers over much of the state. Fresh northeast to northwest winds in the east. Colder southwest winds spreading through the inland.
