MELBOURNE - Oct 26/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Warning Summary at issue time Preliminary Minor Rural Flood Warning for the Paroo River at Willara Crossing. Details of warnings are available on the Bureau's website www.bom.gov.au, by telephone 1300-659-218* or through some TV and radio broadcasts. Weather Situation A high lies over western Victoria behind a cold front which is moving northwards along the NSW coast. and adjacent inland, bringing showers and possible thunderstorms to the southeast and northern coast and east ranges. This high will move rapidly towards New Zealand. An active cold front will move over the state from Friday bringing rain over the weekend, with colder conditions behind the front. Forecast for the rest of Wednesday Isolated showers along the southeastern border, extending northwards during the day and becoming scattered about the southeastern corner . The chance of isolated showers along the northern coast and adjacent east ranges. The chance of thunderstorms along the coast and east ranges. Mostly sunny elsewhere. South to southwest winds inland. Northwest to northeast winds along the coast ahead of a fresh south to southeast change extending to Yamba by about midnight. Forecast for Thursday Isolated coastal showers clearing from the south. Partly cloudy on and east of the ranges, mostly sunny remainder. Southeast to northeast winds. Forecast for Friday Isolated clearing showers on the north coast. Patchy rain developing in the west later. Partly cloudy elsewhere Warm, freshening northwest to northeast winds ahead of a colder southwesterly change in the far southwest later. Forecast for Saturday Partly cloudy in the northeast. Rain areas extending northeastwards over the remainder of the state and clearing in the far west. Fresh northwest to northeast winds ahead of a colder gusty west to southwesterly change in the west.
