Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 26/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary at issue time
Preliminary Minor Rural Flood Warning for the Paroo River at Willara Crossing.
Details of warnings are available on the Bureau's website www.bom.gov.au, by telephone 1300-659-218* or through some TV and radio broadcasts.
Weather Situation
A high is near New Zealand, and a ridge of high pressure is moving into the Bight with a weak trough between these systems over NSW today, resulting in some isolated showers and thunderstorms over eastern parts. On Wednesday the ridge moves over western NSW, preceded by front moving northwards along the NSW coast , resulting in showers and possible thunderstorms, chiefly about the southeast of the state. This high will move rapidly towards New Zealand, with an active cold front moving over the state state from Friday bringing rain and colder conditions to most districts.
Forecast for the rest of Tuesday
Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast this afternoon. Isolated showers and thunderstorms developing later in the far southeast near Victorian border. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds tending west to northwest in the south.
Forecast for Wednesday
Isolated showers along the southeastern border, extending northwards during the day to about Sydney and becoming scattered about the southeastern corner with possible thunderstorms. The chance of isolated showers along the northern coast and adjacent east ranges. Mostly sunny elsewhere. South to southwest winds inland. Northwest to northeast winds along the coast ahead of a south to southeast change over the southern half.
Forecast for Thursday
Isolated coastal showers clearing from the south. Partly cloudy on and east of the ranges, mostly sunny remaining. Southeast to northeast winds.
Forecast for Friday
Isolated clearing showers on the north coast. Patchy rain developing in the west later,. Partly cloudy elsewhere Warm, freshening northwest to northeast winds ahead of a colder southwesterly change in the far southwest later.
Forecast for Saturday
Rain areas extending towards the central parts of the state and clearing in the far west. Partly cloudy in the northeast. Northwest to northeast winds ahead of a colder southwesterly change in the west.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EDT Wednesday.
