MELBOURNE - Oct 22/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Warning Summary at issue time Minor Flood Warning for the Murrumbidgee River at Narrandera and Downstream. Severe thunderstorm warning for the Hunter, Illawarra, Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands, Central West Slopes and Plains and South West Slopes forecast districts Strong wind warning is current for Sydney Closed Waters. Strong wind warning for New South Wales waters between Seal Rocks and Gabo Island. Weather Situation A cold front is moving across southeastern and northwestern New South Wales. The front will will move over the northeast overnight or early Sunday and weaken into a trough. Rain areas and isolated thunderstorms ahead and near the front and isolated clearing showers behind. The trough will move offshore by Monday maintaining showers over the northeast. Another weak cold front is expected to move through the state during Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of Saturday Partly cloudy in the northeast, with the chance of afternoon showers or thunderstorms about the tablelands. Rain areas developing across the south, extending to central districts through the day with the chance of thunderstorms, but clearing from the southwest later. North to northwest winds ahead of a southwesterly change extending through most of the state, gusty near the coast. Forecast for Sunday Mostly sunny in the southwest. Rain areas or isolated showers elsewhere, clearing from the northwest. The Chance of thunderstorms in the northeast. Southwest to southeast winds extending throughout. Forecast for Monday Isolated showers in the east, scattered at first on the far north coast. Partly cloudy in the west. Southeast to northeast winds near the coast, tending light and variable inland. Forecast for Tuesday Isolated showers in the northeast and on the western slopes of the far southern ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Northeast to northwest winds near the coast, tending northwest to southwest inland. Forecast for Wednesday Isolated showers along southern coastal districts and adjacent ranges, mostly sunny elsewhere. South to southeast winds along the southern coast moving northward through the day, light winds elsewhere.
