Weather Situation
A strengthening ridge of high pressure lies across New South Wales, while a weak cold front passes to the south. The stabilising effect of this ridge will maintain fine conditions in most districts today, before some coastal showers develop on Tuesday as onshore winds develop. Showers may penetrate further inland during the second half of the weak as a trough develops across the north, although the air mass is likely to remain too dry for any significant rain totals.
Forecast for the rest of Monday
Fine apart from isolated showers on the far southern ranges, and the chance of a shower about the south coast during the evening. West to southwest winds, becoming northeast to southeasterly along parts of the coast during the afternoon.
Forecast for Tuesday
Isolated showers developing along the central and northern coast, becoming scattered in parts. Fine elsewhere. South to southeast winds.
Forecast for Wednesday
Isolated showers in the northeast, mainly near the Queensland border. Fine elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.
Forecast for Thursday
Isolated showers over central and northeastern parts. Fine elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds in the east, tending light and variable inland.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Monday.
