Weather Situation
A relatively dry air mass has moved over the state, while a strengthening ridge of high pressure is developing from the west. This pattern will restrict any shower activity to regions near the Victorian border over the next day or two as the high remains dominant. By Tuesday an onshore airstream is expected to develop, which is likely to bring showers to coastal parts. This may see shower activity push inland later in the week as a trough develops across the north.
Forecast for the rest of Sunday
Isolated showers about the far southern inland. Fine elsewhere. West to southwest winds.
Forecast for Monday
Fine apart from isolated showers on the western slopes of the far southern ranges. Mostly west to southwest winds
Forecast for Tuesday
Isolated showers developing along the coast, becoming scattered about central parts. Fine elsewhere. South to southeast winds.
Forecast for Wednesday
Isolated showers in the northeast, mainly near the Queensland border. Fine elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.
Forecast for Thursday
Isolated showers over central and northeastern parts. Fine elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds in the east, tending light and variable inland.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EDT Monday.
