Forecast for FridayRain areas, heavy at times over the northeast, contracting eastwards during the day. Isolated thunderstorms spreading eastwards. Cool to cold with strong and gusty south to southwesterly winds extending throughout. Scattered showers following the change with snow down to 500 metres. Forecast for SaturdayScattered showers on and south of the divide and isolated showers over the northern plains. Snow down to 500 metres during the morning, contracting to the Alpine area by evening.
