Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update
MELBOURNE - Oct 9/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Warning Summary at issue time Final Minor Flood Warning for the Orara River at Coutts Crossing. Moderate Flood Warning for the Barwon River at Mungindi. Minor Flood Warning for the Warrego River. Strong wind warning for New South Wales waters between Point Danger and Wooli. Details of warnings are available on the Bureau's website www.bom.gov.au, by telephone 1300-659-218* or through some TV and radio broadcasts. Weather Situation A low pressure trough off New South Wales north coast is bringing showers to the northeast while a slow-moving high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea extends a ridge across the remainder of the state. During Monday the high will move towards New Zealand maintaining the ridge to the north coast as another trough develops over the western parts of the state. The trough is expected to bring light rain or showers to most districts during the second half of the week. Forecast for the rest of Saturday Mostly clear skies in the northwest and in the southern inland. Isolated showers elsewhere tending scattered in the far northeast. The chance of thunderstorms in the northern parts of Central plains. East to southeast winds. Forecast for Sunday Isolated showers on the coast and on adjacent ranges tending scattered in the north and isolated showers in the northeastern inland. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds, fresh on the north coast. Forecast for Monday Showers in the northeast. Isolated showers on the south and central coasts. Partly cloudy remainder. Southeast to northeast winds. Forecast for Tuesday Isolated showers on north coast and adjacent ranges tending scattered in the far north. Patchy rain developing in the southern inland. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds. Forecast for Wednesday Partly cloudy in the northeast with isolated showers near the coast. Patchy rain elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.
