MELBOURNE - Oct 8/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Warning Summary at issue time Minor Flood Warning for the Orara River at Coutts Crossing. Moderate Flood Warning for the Barwon River at Mungindi. Minor Flood Warning for the Warrego River. Details of warnings are available on the Bureau's website www.bom.gov.au, by telephone 1300-659-218* or through some TV and radio broadcasts. Weather Situation Onshore flow and associated upper level trough will remain over the northeast of New South Wales through the weekend and into next week with showery weather persisting there. A high over the Bight is expected to move east and become established over the Tasman Sea where it will remain through much of the week. The next change is expected to affect the state on Wednesday and Thursday. Forecast for the rest of Friday Isolated showers in the northeast tending scattered near Queensland border with the chance of thunderstorms over the northern inland. Fine elsewhere. South to southeast winds, tending southwest in the far southeast of the state. Forecast for Saturday Scattered showers on the north coast and adjacent ranges. Isolated showers over the northern inland and along the coast. Isolated afternoon thunderstorms in the northwest. Southeasterly to easterly winds throughout. Forecast for Sunday Scattered showers on the far north coast. Isolated showers on the remainder of the coast and over the northern inland. East to northeast winds, fresh on the north coast. Forecast for Monday Isolated showers in the northeast, more scattered in the far north. Fine remainder. Southeast winds on the north coast. Northeast winds remainder. Forecast for Tuesday Isolated showers north coast and adjacent ranges. Patchy rain developing in the far west. Fine elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.
