MELBOURNE - Oct 7/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Warning Summary at issue time Minor To Moderate Flood Warning for the Orara River at Coutts Crossing. Moderate Flood Warning for the Barwon River at Mungindi. Minor Flood Warning for the Warrego River. Strong wind warning for New South Wales waters between Point Danger and Cape Byron. Strong wind warning for New South Wales waters between Green Cape and Gabo Island. Weather Situation A weak trough will persist over the northeast until the end of the week while a high becomes established over the central Tasman Sea and extends a broad ridge over the remainder of the state. The slow moving Tasman high will direct easterly winds onto the NSW northern coast early next week with warmer northeasterly winds over the inland. Current computer model guidance suggests the next change should affect NSW Wednesday and Thursday next week. Forecast for the rest of Friday Isolated showers in the northeast tending scattered near Queensland border with the chance of afternoon thunderstorms over the northern inland. Early and late drizzle patches on the central and southern parts of the coast and adjacent eastern ranges. Mostly sunny over the remainder. South to southeast winds, tending southwest in the far southeast of the state. Forecast for Saturday Isolated showers in the northeast, tending scattered near the Queensland border. Mostly sunny over the remainder. Southeasterly to easterly winds throughout. Forecast for Sunday Isolated showers in the east, particularly the north coast, and possibly about the far northwest. East to northeast winds, fresh on the north coast. Forecast for Monday Isolated showers in the northeast. Fine remainder. Southeast winds on the north coast. Northeast winds remainder.
