Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 4/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary at issue time
Minor Flood Warning for the Bellinger River.
Minor To Moderate Flood Warning for the Orara River at Glenreagh and Downstream.
Minor To Moderate Flood Warning for the Barwon River at Mungindi.
Preliminary Minor Flood Warning for the Warrego River.
Final Minor Flood Warning for the Brunswick River Valley.

Weather Situation
`A low pressure trough that has brought heavy rainfall to northeastern New South Wales will weaken during Tuesday as a cold front approaches from the west. The front preceded by showers and isolated thunderstorms will move through the state during Wednesday and Thursday. A high pressure system near the Bight will extend a ridge behind the front bringing mostly clear skies to the western and southeastern parts while another weak trough is expected to develop over the far northeast on Saturday bringing showers there.
Forecast for the rest of Tuesday
Isolated showers coast and adjacent ranges tending scattered in the north. Isolated showers and thunderstorms developing in the west and in the southeastern inland. Southeast to northeast winds.
Forecast for Wednesday
Scattered on the north and central coasts and in the western and southern inland. Isolated showers elsewhere. Possible thunderstorms in the west. Northeast winds before a southwest change in the southwest.
Forecast for Thursday
Showers and thunderstorms clearing from the west and contracting to the northeast during the day. Freshening, cooler southwest to southerly change extending throughout.
Forecast for Friday
Showers in the northeast. Fine over the remainder. South to southeast winds.
