MELBOURNE - Sep 28/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Warning Summary at issue time Minor Flood Warning for the Macintyre River at Boggabilla and Barwon River at Mungindi. Severe thunderstorm warning for the Northern Rivers and Northern Tablelands forecast districts Strong wind warning for New South Wales waters between Cape Byron and Gabo Island. Weather Situation A low pressure trough is bringing isolated showers and thunderstorms to northeastern New South Wales while a high pressure ridge brings cloudy conditions to the remainder. The trough will weaken by Thursday as the ridge strengthen throughout the state and showers will contract to the far north coast and clear. Another trough is expected to develop over the northwest and southeast with isolated showers developing in most of the districts. Forecast for the rest of Tuesday Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast tending scattered near the coast and on adjacent ranges. The chance of showers along the Victorian border, possibly extending to the South Coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Northwest to northeast winds tending southwest to southeast in the west and southeast. Forecast for Wednesday Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the far northeast tending scattered in the afternoon near the coast and on adjacent ranges. Isolated showers on the Alps. Mostly sunny over the remainder. South to southwest winds, fresh at times. Forecast for Thursday Isolated showers on the north coast and adjacent ranges. Morning frost in the southeastern inland. Partly cloudy in the remainder. Northeast to southeast winds over the inland. South to southeast winds tending east to northeast in the north. Forecast for Friday Isolated showers on the far north coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds. Forecast for Saturday Isolated showers developing in west and isolated coastal showers in the north. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.
