A lingering low pressure trough is expected to continue to bring isolated showers to northeastern New South Wales until about midweek. A high pressure ridge is maintaining fine conditions across the remainder of the state. Early in the new week weak fronts will move across the south late Monday and Tuesday and are likely to result in some isolated shower activity along the southern border area, more likely in the east. An upper trough is expected to generate some showers in the southeast during Wednesday. The next high will move over NSW from Wednesday to Friday, with isolated showers along parts of the coast and mostly sunny conditions over the remainder of the state.
Forecast for the rest of Monday
Early fog patches, mostly in the northeast. Isolated showers in the northeast and developing later along the eastern half of the Victorian border. Mostly sunny at first over the remainder, but cloud increasing in the afternoon. Warm west to northwest winds tending cooler southwesterly in the south. Winds freshening along the central and southern ranges.
Forecast for Tuesday
Isolated showers in the northeast, with the possibility of thunderstorms along the far northeastern Queensland border. Isolated showers along the Victorian border, extending northwards along the South Coast. Mostly sunny morning elsewhere, with cloud increasing in the afternoon. Northerly wind in the northeast, with southerly winds extending through the remainder.
Forecast for Wednesday
Isolated showers in the southeast and in the northeast. Mostly sunny over the remainder. South to southwest winds, fresh at times.
Forecast for Thursday
Isolated showers along parts of the coast. Mostly sunny over the remainder. Northeast to southeast winds over the inland. South to southeast winds along the coast.
