Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 24/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers over the southwest extending to remaining southern and mountain districts during the day with just the chance of light shower or two north of the divide. Chance of a thunderstorm in the southwest and south. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh west to northwesterly winds shifting southwesterly during the day.
Forecast for SundayPartly cloudy with isolated showers in the southwest, clearing. Fine over the north. Cool to mild with mainly moderate northwesterly winds.
Forecast for MondayMild with fresh to strong northwesterly winds shifting colder southwesterly from the west during the day. Scattered showers extending eastwards over southern and mountain areas. Snow showers developing later above 1500 metres.
Forecast for TuesdayCold in the south with scattered showers over southern and mountain districts. Snow showers above 1400 metres at first, lowering to 1000 metres later. Cool in the north and generally dry. Moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Saturday.* Calls to 1300 numbers cost around 27.5c incl. GST, higher from mobiles or public phones.
