Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 24/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary at issue time
Minor Flood Warning for the Macintyre River at Boggabilla.
Strong wind warning for New South Wales waters between Wooli and Seal Rocks.
Details of warnings are available on the Bureau's website www.bom.gov.au, by telephone 1300-659-218* or through some TV and radio broadcasts.
Weather Situation
A broad low pressure trough is bringing showers and thunderstorms to northeastern New South Wales while a high pressure ridge is maintaining fine conditions across southern and western districts. This pattern will remain through the weekend, although some cloud will move across the state during Saturday associated with a cold front passing to the south. Early in the new week another weak front will move across the south before the next ridge extends across from the west, restricting any shower activity to coastal regions.
Forecast for the rest of Friday
Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast. Mostly clear skies elsewhere. Light westerly winds inland, with northeasterly sea-breezes along the coast.
Forecast for Saturday
Isolated showers and thunderstorms over the northeast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. West to northwest winds turning southerly in the south later.
Forecast for Sunday
Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Light winds tending southeast to northeasterly along the coast.
Forecast for Monday
Isolated showers in the northeast Partly cloudy elsewhere. Warm west to northwest winds tending cooler southwesterly in the south.
Forecast for Tuesday
Isolated showers in the northeast, and along the southern coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Northerly wind in the northeast, with southerly winds extending through the remainder.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EST Saturday.
