Record Year for Canola Crush
OTTAWA - Sep 23/10 - SNS -- Canada's oil;seed industry processed a record quantity of canola in 2009-10, with August becoming the seventh consecutive month in which crushing volume established new monthly records.
Statistics Canada reports oilseed processors crushed 439,791 metric tons (MT) of canola in August. Oil production totalled 192,227 MT while meal production amounted to 243,201 MT.
