MELBOURNE - Sep 21/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Warning Summary at issue time Minor Flood Warning for the Severn River at Ashford and the Macintyre River at Boggabilla. Minor Flood Warning for the Bogan River at Dandaloo. Minor Flood Warning for Rural Areas along the Murray River at Torumbarry Weir and Barham. Strong wind warning for New South Wales waters between Broken Bay and Gabo Island. Weather Situation A high pressure system over the Bight is semi stationary, and extends a ridge into the Tasman Sea, bringing mostly fine weather to western and southern districts. There is also very little movement in a trough over northeastern NSW, and this will continue to generate rain periods or showers there for the remainder of the business week. Forecast for the rest of Tuesday Isolated showers in the northeast with rain areas on the north coast and northern ranges and slopes. Fine elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds. Forecast for Wednesday Scattered showers in the northeast, tending isolated about the central coast and northern inland. Possible isolated showers developing about the western slopes of the southern and central ranges. Early fog, mostly in the southeast. Early frost on the southern ranges. Southwest to southeast winds. Forecast for Thursday Isolated showers in the east and northeast tending scatted on the far north coast and ranges. Chance thunderstorms over the northern inland. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Early fog, mostly in the southeast. Early frost on the southern ranges. Southwest to southeast winds. Forecast for Friday Isolated showers in the northeast, tending scatted on the far north coast and ranges at first, clearing by the end of the day. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Early fog.
