MELBOURNE - Sep 19/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Warning Summary at issue time Final Minor Flood Warning for the Macquarie River at Warren. Minor Flood Warning for the Bogan River at Dandaloo. Strong wind warning for New South Wales waters between Merimbula and Gabo Island. Weather Situation A strong slow-moving high pressure system southwest of the Bight extends a ridge to northeastern New South Wales. A low pressure trough is expected to develop off the north coast during Monday and Tuesday and rain periods or showers are expected to extend across most of the northeast of New South Wales. By Wednesday the trough will move further offshore but showers are expected to continue over the northeast. Mostly fine weather is expected across the remainder of the state under the influence of the ridge of high pressure. Forecast for the rest of Sunday Cloudy in the north with areas of rain. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds. Dangerous swell conditions along the coast easing during the day. Forecast for Monday Areas of rain in the northeast. Isolated showers over the central coast and adjacent ranges. Fine elsewhere. Early frost and fog patches. Southwest to southeast winds. Forecast for Tuesday Areas of rain in the northeast corner, decreasing to isolated showers south along the coast to the Illawarra and over the northwest inland. Fine elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds. Forecast for Wednesday Scattered showers in the northeast decreasing to isolated showers south along the coast to the Illawarra and over the northwest inland. Fine elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds. Forecast for Thursday Isolated showers about the coast, ranges and western slopes north from about the Illawarra, increasing to scatttered on the north coast. Southwest to southeast winds.
