IDQ1070001 WARNING SUMMARY A flood warning is current for the lower Macintyre River. STATE FORECAST for Thursday night and Friday Isolated showers developing over most of the eastern tropics. Isolated storms developing Friday afternoon about western Cape York Peninsula. Cloudy over most southern and central areas of the state with rain areas over the south-west and southern interior of the state. Moderate E to SE winds over the northern tropics. Mostly moderate SW to SE winds elsewhere. EXTENDED OUTLOOK Saturday: Cloudy over much of the south and central parts of the state with rain areas. Showers over the eastern tropics with showers and storms over much of the remaining western tropics. Light to moderate SE to NE winds over most far northern and eastern districts with moderate S'ly winds over the west of the state. Sunday: Rain areas with isolated thunderstorms over southern and central areas of the state and the north-west with a clearance spreading across the south-west during the day. Showers and storms over remaining areas. Some moderate to heavy falls likely over the central interior. Light to moderate SE to NE winds over most far northern and eastern districts with moderate S'ly winds over the west of the state. Monday: Rain areas and isolated storms with some moderate to heavy falls contracting into the south-east of the state and the far south-east tropics. Showers and/or storms over renaming eastern and far northern districts. Fine over the west of the state with moderate S'ly winds. Light to moderate SE to NE winds over most far northern and eastern districts. Outlook for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday: The cloud and rain band will weaken during Tuesday with mostly showers persisting over eastern districts. Isolated storms will also continue about the eastern tropical interior. Redevelopment of the cloud and rain band will possibly occur over the central, southern and south-east interior of the state during Tuesday and Wednesday as a weak upper trough moves across south-eastern Australia. Showers and isolated afternoon storms will continue across much of the northern and eastern tropics.
