MELBOURNE - Sep 14/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Minor Flood Warning for Rural Areas along the Murray River Downstream of Tocumwal and Edward River at Deniliquin. Flood Watch for Central West NSW, Illawarra and South Coast. Strong wind warning is current for Sydney Closed Waters. Gale warning for New South Wales waters between Smoky Cape and Point Perpendicular. Gale warning for New South Wales waters between Green Cape and Gabo Island. Strong wind warning for New South Wales waters between Point Danger and Smoky Cape. Strong wind warning for New South Wales waters between Point Perpendicular and Moruya Heads. Strong wind warning for New South Wales waters between Montague Island and Green Cape. Weather Situation A low pressure system off the central coast of NSW will deepen and move rapidly away from the coast later Wednesday morning and winds should ease gradually. Another cold front is expected to move over the southwestern Tasman Sea later on Thursday. A high south of Bight should extending a ridge through NSW to the north coast through to the weekend. An upper level trough to the west should bring some cloud at times later in the week and over the weekend but most of the rain associated with it should remain over Queensland until Sunday. Forecast for the rest of Wednesday Isolated showers on the western slopes of the ranges, clearing from the north this morning. Morning showers on the south and central coasts. Snow showers developing on the higher Alpine peaks. Partly cloudy elsewhere. West to southwesterly winds, strong near parts of the coast, but easing later. Forecast for Thursday Isolated showers on the western slopes of the southern ranges. Snow showers on the higher Alpine peaks. Partly cloudy elsewhere. West to southwesterly winds, gusty in the southeast. Forecast for Friday Partly cloudy in the northeast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds. Forecast for Saturday Partly cloudy.
