Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 14/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Forecast for the rest of TuesdayPatchy rain in the far north and east clearing from the west. Isolated showers in Alpine regions also clearing. Mostly clear in southern areas and rather cold. Generally light winds.
Forecast for WednesdayScattered showers extending across southern and mountain regions with Alpine snow above 1300 metres. Isolated showers developing in the north. A cool to cold day with moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds, stronger on the exposed coast.
Forecast for ThursdayScattered showers in southern and mountain areas with alpine snowfalls. Mainly dry in the north. A cool to cold day with fresh southwesterly winds, strong to locally gale force about the coast.
Forecast for FridayIsolated showers, mainly on and south of the divide, scattered near the coast and over West and South Gippsland. Snow showers above 1400 metres. Cool with moderate to fresh southwesterly winds, strong about the Gippsland coast.
Forecast for SaturdayIsolated showers, mainly on and south of the divide, scattered at times. Snow showers on Alpine peaks. Cool to cold with moderate to fresh southwesterly winds, strong about the Gippsland coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Wednesday.* Calls to 1300 numbers cost around 27.5c incl. GST, higher from mobiles or public phones.
