MELBOURNE - Sep 13/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Warning Summary at issue time Minor Flood Warning for the Macintyre River at Boggabilla. Minor Flood Warning for Rural Areas along the Murray River Downstream of Yarrawonga and Edward River at Deniliquin. Flood Watch for Central West NSW for Late Tuesday and Wednesday. Strong wind warning for New South Wales waters between Merimbula and Gabo Island. Weather Situation A cold front preceded by rain band will move across New South Wales during tonight and Tuesday. The front will move over the Tasman Sea Tuesday night and a low will develop off the central coast increasing winds along the coast. The low is expected to move rapidly towards New Zealand during Wednesday as a high pressure ridge strengthen across the state. Another cold front is expected to bring fresh and gusty southwesterly winds to the southeast on Thursday. Forecast for the rest of Monday Rain in the far west extending extending to to the southern and central ranges in the evening and to the southern half of the coast overnight. Possible thunderstorms in the southern inland. Partly cloudy elsewhere. West to northwesterly winds tending fresh southerly along the south coast. Forecast for Tuesday Rain areas contracting eastwards and clearing in the far west. The chance of thunderstorms in the eastern half. Northwesterly winds turning southwesterly. Forecast for Wednesday Isolated showers on the western slopes of the ranges, clearing from the north. Early showers on the south coast. Snow showers on the higher Alpine peaks. partly cloudy elsewhere. West to southwesterly winds, strengthening in the southeast. Forecast for Thursday Isolated showers on the western slopes of the southern ranges. Snow showers on the higher Alpine peaks. Partly cloudy elsewhere. West to southwesterly winds, strong and gusty in the southeast. Forecast for Friday Partly cloudy in the northeast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds.
