Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 11/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary at issue time
Minor Flood Warning for the Upper Macintyre and the Severn Rivers.
Minor Flood Warning for Rural Areas along the Murray River Downstream of Yarrawonga and Edward River at Deniliquin.
Final Flood Warning for the Murray River Upstream Of Lake Hume.

Weather Situation
A high pressure ridge that brought clear conditions to New South Wales during Saturday is slowly drifting eastwards and weakening. High cloud will stream across the region from the west today ahead of an approaching trough of low pressure, will patchy rain developing over parts of the inland by evening. Most district will see some rain during Monday and Tuesday as a low develops within the trough and moves across the state's south. Conditions are expected to clear over much of the inland by Wednesday as another ridge begins to extends across from the west, although southeast parts of the state are likely to experience gusty conditions as the low deepens off the southern New South Wales coast.
Forecast for the rest of Sunday
Cloud increasing from the west, with patchy rain developing over the western inland, chiefly in the afternoon and evening. Isolated showers developing over the southern inland during the afternoon. North to northwest winds over the inland. East to northeasterly winds along the coast, freshening in the south later.
Forecast for Monday
Patchy rain through all areas except the far northeast. The chance of thunderstorms over the southwestern inland. Possible snow on the Alpine peaks. West to northwesterly winds.
Forecast for Tuesday
Scattered showers and rain areas contracting eastwards and clearing in the far west. Snow on higher parts of the Alps. Northwesterly winds turning southwesterly.
Forecast for Wednesday
Isolated showers in the south and east, contracting eastwards and clearing. Snow showers on the Alps. West to southwesterly winds.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Sunday.
