MELBOURNE - Sep 9/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Warning Summary at issue time Final Minor Flood Warning for Lachlan River at Cottons Weir. Renewal Minor Flood Warning for Murrumbidgee River at Narrandera and Darlington Point. Minor To Moderate Flood Warning for Rural Areas Along the Murray River Downstream Of Yarrawonga. Minor Flood Warning for the Murray River Upstream Of Lake Hume. Flood Watch for Minor Flooding Along the Severn and Macintyre Rivers and the Gwydir River Valley. Strong wind warning is current for Sydney Closed Waters. Gale warning for New South Wales waters between Crowdy Head and Ulladulla. Gale warning for New South Wales waters between Merimbula and Gabo Island. Strong wind warning for New South Wales waters between Point Danger and Crowdy Head. Strong wind warning for New South Wales waters between Ulladulla and Merimbula. Warning to sheep graziers for the Northern Tablelands, Southern Tablelands and South West Slopes forecast districts. Weather Situation A cold front preceded by a rain band is moving across western and southeastern New South Wales during today and through the northeast during Friday. Showers will persist about the southeastern inland on Friday, with snow on the Alps, then clear rapidly on Saturday, except for a possible lingering snow flurry about the western slopes of the Alps. A high pressure ridge will develop behind the trough on Saturday and showers will contract to the western slopes of the southern ranges. Another cold front is expected to move through the state during Monday and Tuesday bringing some rain, generally light, to most districts. Forecast for the rest of Thursday Fine in the south west. Rain areas over the remainder with isolated thunderstorms, extending to the far northeast. North to northwest winds. Forecast for Friday Fine in the north west. Rain in the northeast clearing. Isolated showers elsewhere tending scattered about the western slopes of the southern ranges. Snow on the Alps. Fresh northwest winds turning fresh to strong westerly. Forecast for Saturday Isolated light showers on western slopes of the far southern ranges clearing. Fine remainder. Southwest to southerly winds. Forecast for Sunday Cloud increasing from the west, with some patchy rain developing over the western inland during the afternoon or evening. West to northwest winds over the inland. East to northeast winds along the coast. Forecast for Monday Patchy rain through much of the state, increasing to rain areas about the southeastern inland. Increasing west to northwest winds.
