Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 6/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary at issue time
Minor Flood Warning for the Macintyre River at Boggabilla.
Renewal Minor Flood Warning for the Castlereagh River at Mendooran.
MINOR FLOOD WARNING.
FOR THE BELL RIVER AT WELLINGTON AND MACQUARIE RIVER AT WARREN.
Renewal Minor Flood Warning for Murrumbidgee River at Narrandera and Darlington Point.
Minor To Moderate Flood Warning for the Murray River Downstream Of Hume Dam.
Final Minor Flood Warning for Belubula River at Canowindra.
Moderate Flood Warning for the Murray River upstream of Lake Hume.

Weather Situation
An upper level low or cold pool will produce unstable conditions and showers over southern NSW today and early tomorrow before moving east over the Tasman. A weak low associated with this system should develop off the NSW coast early tomorrow then move further east. A high currently over South Australia is expected to move southeast Tuesday and Wednesday with a ridge and generally fine conditions developing over NSW. A cold front will approach NSW Thursday with a preceding rain band extending east over most of the state. Twenty four hour rainfall totals in the 5 to 10 millimeter ranges are likely with this system, though around 20 millimeters about the western slopes of the ranges. The cold front should cross southern and central NSW Friday with showers and mountain snow for the southern inland and rain easing in the northeast.
Forecast for the rest of Monday
Scattered showers in the south, more isolated along the coast and in the far west. Snow on the higher Alps. The chance of thunderstorms in the southeast. Light to moderate west to southwest winds, locally fresh at times about the ranges.
Forecast for Tuesday
Isolated showers in the southeast and developing about the north coast and adjacent ranges during the day. Snow on the southern ranges. The chance of early thunderstorms along the south coast. Early frost areas about the ranges, particularly in the south, and early fog patches west of the ranges.Partly cloudy over much of the remainder. Southwest to southeast winds, fresh along parts of the the coast.
Forecast for Wednesday
Isolated showers along the north and central coasts, contracting further north. Patchy rain developing in the far west later. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Early frost and fog patches, mostly in the east. Southeast to northeast winds tending north to northwest in the west.
Forecast for Thursday
Rain areas in the west, extending to the southern and central coasts during the day and easing to the far west. Isolated early showers on the north coast. Freshening north to northwest winds.
Forecast for Friday
Rain areas in the northeast, easing. Scattered showers over the southern inland with snow on the Alps. Fresh northwest winds turning colder, strong and gusty westerly in the south.
